Incase you missed it...We wanted to send a reminder about an upcoming special Board of Education meeting:

On February 20, 2018, Derby Public Schools passed a $114 million school bond issue. This bond is focused on making enhancements in the following areas: Safety and Security, Deferred Maintenance, Efficiency and Growth, Curriculum and Program Equity. This is an investment that households and businesses across our community have committed to, and we will continue to provide information on ways for the community to be engaged and informed as we move ahead with the bond projects. A piece of this bond includes building a new 3-section elementary school. With this new school opening for the 2020-2021 school year, Pleasantview Elementary will be closing after the completion of the 2019-2020 school year. We will be starting the process to determine the future of the Pleasantview property by holding a special board meeting on October 29, 2018 at 5:30PM in Pleasantview Elementary’s gym (1101 N. Georgie). We invite you to attend this meeting as Derby Public Schools visits possible options and timelines regarding the Pleasantview property. The Board will hear different possible options as well as have a time for open comments.

  • Derby Recreation Commission (5:30-5:35PM)

  • Realtor Panel (5:35-6:15PM)

  • Tiny Home Builders Panel (6:15-6:45PM)

  • Open Comments/Input (6:45-7:15PM)

  • The City of Derby

No final decision will be made this evening. Please join us to listen to ideas and share your thoughts. Your feedback and input is important.
