Weather Reminders

Weather Reminders
Weather RemindersStudents will not be expected to go outside for recess when:
• There is rain, sleet, or snow falling.
• The temperature or wind-chill index is below 15 degrees or above 100 degrees.
• When the principal determines the students should remain indoors (i.e. high winds, extreme heat, etc.)

It is expected a child will remain indoors during recess when:
• Honoring a written parent request.
• The school is responding to a child’s medical need.
• When the school (teacher or principal) determines the child is inadequately clothed. Please make sure your child has a coat, hat and gloves with him/her every day. It is very helpful if his name is written in each of these as well.If you need assistance with these things, please let the office know.

In case of school closing due to snow or ice, please listen to our local radio or television stations for information. In addition, Mrs. Rothe will update our school answering machine (788-8555) as soon as she gets word on any closings, and you should receive a Skylert message. Remember that district personnel will shovel the “critical entrances” early in the morning if school is in session and will then return later in the day for additional shoveling. This critical entrance for Pleasantview is the front entrance and the Latchkey entrance. If they have time, they will also shovel the rest of the sidewalks. Please remember this in case of slick conditions.
